The Punjab government has decided to celebrate 'Youm-e-Quaid' in a befitting manner and in this regard, seven-day long ceremonies will be held enthusiastically across the province. A high-level meeting was held here on Friday with Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif in the chair, to review arrangements of different programs and ceremonies planned on the occasion of Youm-e-Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
Addressing the meeting, Shahbaz said that celebrations of Youm-e-Quaid will be held in every district and special programmes will be arranged to pay homage to the Father of the Nation as the creation of Pakistan is the result of the great struggle of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
He said the Muslims of Indo-Pak Sub-continent valiantly struggled under the dynamic leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and celebration of his birthday in an amicable manner is our national obligation. This way, the new generation will be sensitized about the sayings and vision of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
He said the Punjab government is materializing the dream of Quaid-e-Azam and added that ceremonies and programmes should be given final shape at the earliest. Provincial Ministers Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman, Rana Mashhood Ahmed, Spokesman Punjab government Malik Muhammad Ahmed Khan, secretaries of schools education and higher education departments, DG Lahore Walled City, Commissioner Lahore Division and others attended the meeting.
