KARACHI: Sindhi Culture Day was celebrated with enthusiasm in Karachi on Sunday, as rallies and other cultural programmes were organised to mark the day.
People of all ages, including women and children, attired in Sindhi cultural dresses with Ajrak and Sindhi cap participated in the rallies and other cultural programmes in large numbers.
The main event to celebrate Sindhi Culture Day was organised outside the Karachi Press Club which was also participated by women and children in large number to express their love for Sindhi culture.
The Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) also took out a rally in the metropolis to observe Sindhi Cultural Day.
The rally was led by PTI leader Haleem Adil Sheikh from Insaf House to Governor House.
Addressing the participants of the rally, Sindh Governor Imran Ismail said Sindh is the land of Sufis and saints who always preached love, peace, unity and harmony. Imran Ismail said there is need to promote the Sufis' message of love and peace. He said people of Sindh have great love and passion for its culture.
This year Sindhi Culture Day's theme is "Aekta" which means unity.
