Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) has announced that it will hold a protest demonstration against US president Donald Trump's decision to recognise Jerusalem as Israel's capital, outside American Consulate in Peshawar on December 22. The announcement was made by JI provincial ameer, Mushtaq Ahmad Khan while addressing a news conference at Al-Markaz-e-Islami Peshawar on Thursday.
Flanked by the party provincial general secretary, Abdul Wasey, district ameer Sabir Hussain Awan, secretary information, Syed Jamaat Ali Shah, and leaders from Fata, and others, he said the JI will hold a peaceful demonstration in front of the US Consulate in Peshawar, and warned the provincial government for blocking their way.
He said that peaceful protest is a democratic and constitutional right, and hoped the government will not create any obstacles in their protest. He said the US embassy and Consulate had become a mini-Pentagon, because people are being faced with enormous difficulties due to closure of routes.
JI provincial chief strongly condemned the decision of US president Donald Trump about recognition of Jerusalem as Israel capital. He criticized the Organisation of Islamic Countries (OIC) for not taking serious stance on the US decision. He asked the leaders of Muslim world whether they are supporting US president decision of December 17 or with Al-Quds.
Mushtaq Ahmad said that Trump's announcement was an alarm bell and was tantamount to sprinkling salt on the wounds of the Muslim Ummah. However, he said that the US President would have to face the consequences. He exhorted the Muslim rulers to shun cowardice and show courage against the US and its President. He said that the liberation of Baitul Maqdis was an issue of life and death for the Muslim world. He said the US enmity towards Islam and the Ummah was never a secret and Trump had initiated a war which could engulf the whole world.
JI leader said that Al-Quds belonged to the Muslims and it would remain so in future. He said that recognition of Jerusalem as Israel capital was a step towards greater Israel and warned that Israel's next target would be the Holy Ka'ba. He said that the decision of US President Doland Trump to recognize Jerusalem as capital of Israel and shifting of US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem hurt sentiments of millions of Muslims and urged the Muslims countries to take immediate steps to force America to withdraw her decision.
"The recognition decision of President Dolad Trump proves his enmity with Muslims across the world they maintained and adding the entire Muslim Umma stands with Palestine people in this time of need", says JUI-F leader. He further added that the announcement of the recognition was well planned conspiracy against the Muslims and asked the entire Muslims world to be united against the Zionist forces. JI leader demanded the US government to immediately take back the decision as it has created upheaval in the entire Muslim world and the act is against the Muslim' s sentiments.
