Taking notice of non-cooperation of authorities concerned in forensic audit of countrywide housing societies, the Supreme Court on Saturday asked the Registrar Office to fix the matter for hearing.
Earlier, the Supreme Court had issued directives to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to conduct forensic audit of housing societies over complaints of forgery in allotment of plots, tax evasion and commercially illegal construction across the country and submit report in three months. It has been reported that FIA appraised the apex court of inability to observe the court orders due to non-cooperation of the provincial and federal governments while seeking court's directives to the authorities concerned in the matter.
Upon which apex court judge Justice Dost Muhammad Khan sent the issue for decision of Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar, who took notice and asked the Registrar office to fix the matter for hearing.
