In a joint statement issued here on Monday, the former president of the Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), Haji Ghulam Ali, Vice President, FPCCI, Rasheed Paracha, former vice president FPCCI, Riaz Khattak, President Chitral Chamber, Sartaj Ahmad Khan, Zafar Jalil Mastikhel, Haji Fazal Elahi, Mamoor Khan (APCEA), Malik Meher Elahi (Anjuman-e-Tajiran), Zubair Ali President, Peshawar Chamber of Small Trade and Industry, Syed Hassan Ali Shah Livestock Exporters Association, Farzana Adeel, Peshawar Women Chamber of Commerce, Noor Mohammad, President, Swat Chamber of Commerce, Sultan Mohammad Mohmand, leader of Mardan Chamber of Commerce and Qaiser Khan, President, Mohmand Chamber of Commerce have demanded of the Chief Minister Pervez Khattak, Chief Secretary, Mohammad Azam Khan and Board of Directors (BoD) to select a local competent and honest person to head the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Economic Zones Development and Management Company (KP-EZDMC).
They said that the new CEO KP-EZDMC should have full knowledge regarding the problems and issues being faced by the industries of the province and should also be familiar with the local environment.
The chambers of commerce and trade associations lauded the nomination of the private sector representatives on the Board of Directors of the company and paid tributes and congratulations to the provincial government and expressed the hope that they will play constructive role to select a local competent and honest person as new chief executive officer for the company.
Similarly, President, Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), Zahidullah Shinwari has also joined hands with the national and provincial level trade bodies for the appointment of a local CEO for the company.
