A shipyard at Gwadar port

It is heartening to note that the Gwadar port is going to have its own shipyard. According to naval chief Admiral Zafar Mahmood, the work on this project will begin anytime soon; it will be completed in three to four years. This is a big news. As stated by the naval chief, global scenario in general and regional geo-political situation in particular warrant concrete and long-term policy decisions for achieving self-reliance.
No doubt, a shipyard will add to the value of natural deep sea port Gwadar. It will also help create a large number of new job opportunities for the people of Balochistan in particular.
