Provincial Minister for Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Mukesh Kumar Chawla has accorded go-ahead for recruitment of fresh field staff to ensure quality performance. Mukesh said that number of field staff should be increased in order to improve performance because it was brought to his notice that the shortage of the field staff was affecting the departmental performance.
Presiding over a meeting at his office, here, he assured the department that he would address the issue related to shortage of staff on priority basis. He also directed to discuss the issue with concerned authority to ensure quality performance of the department.
He said the lady constables should be taken on board during raids against drug peddlers to deal with female drug peddlers with iron hands. He said that induction of lady constables would enable the field officers to conduct thorough search during raids.
Meanwhile, Mukesh also gave cash awards and letters of appreciation to the efficient officers and recognized their tireless and dedicated efforts in helping the department to achieve targets. He said that such cash awards and certificates encouraged the officers to come up with better results and performance. The meeting was attended by Secretary Excise and Taxation Abdul Haleem Shaikh, Director General Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui and other officials.
