Pakistan People's Party Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari said on Monday that an agreement might be 'cooking' in the country. He was commenting on the visit of Sharif brothers to Saudi Arabia. Zardari said this after visiting residence of Javed Akhtar, a senior party member, to offer fateha on the death of his mother.
"No one knows what is cooking. There are a couple of rumours surrounding their visits to Saudi Arabia," he said while talking to the media. He said that Nawaz Sharif might be in Saudi Arabia in connection with his personal issues. "There are multiple theories but I can't say something with certainty."
The former president, however, added that "we respect Saudi Arabia. It is our brotherly state" but added that Pakistan shouldn't take directives from them. "At least our government did not take any such direction," he said. The Sharif brothers' multiple visits to Saudi Arabia have resulted in criticism by opposition parties."
