Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Fawad Chaudhry on Monday raised objection over the Sharif brothers' visit to Saudi Arabia, saying people will not accept any deal made to save them. While addressing a news conference, here on Monday, Fawad said the Sharifs have a history of striking such deals. Referring to reports linking the former prime minister and his brother Shahbaz Sharif's current visit to Saudi Arabia with an attempt to seek a 'deal' out of their present legal predicaments. A country does not remain sovereign if its leaders travel abroad in foreign aircraft, he said while referring to the Saudi aircraft sent for Shahbaz earlier.
He further said that criticism was hurled at PTI leader Jahangir Tareen purchasing an aircraft, but no one questioned Shahbaz when he flew to Saudi Arabia in an aircraft sent by the Kingdom.
The PTI leader also called Nawaz "chief of corrupt politicians" who looted the country. "Nawaz has plundered the people's money for five years," he alleged. He added that the details of Capital FZE company have not been revealed yet. "The company was registered in Dubai under Nawaz's name. [Now] the 40 thieves have found a new plan to steal the public's wealth," Fawad said. "World over the beginning of the New Year was celebrated, but in Pakistan Financial Adviser Miftah Ismail dropped the bomb of increased petroleum prices."
The PTI leader lauded the efforts of the judiciary and investigation agencies, saying they did a remarkable job by starting an operation against the mafias involved in corruption. Fawad Chaudhry claimed that there is a strong link between disqualified premier Nawaz Sharif's visit to Saudi Arabia and his offshore company Hill Metal.
Fawad claimed that the purpose of visit of the two brothers revolves around family's shell company Hill Metal which was allegedly used for money laundering and stashing wealth abroad.
The PTI leader said all the criminals who are serving jail terms should walk free if Nawaz strikes an NRO. He asserted that the government of Saudi Arabia would maintain terms with Pakistan and not with one corrupt family. He said Indian media has claimed that Nawaz has struck a deal. "Why there are celebrations in India over Nawaz's deal?" Chaudhry questioned. He alleged finance minister Ishaq Dar of serving as Nawaz's henchman to launder money using offshore companies including Capital FZE.
