Sindh's minister for education and literacy, Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar, has directed the director general of private institutions, Dr Mansoob Siddiqui, to settle the matter of private schools' demanding advance recovery of tuition fees for June and July, the period of summer vacations. He said that it had come to his notice recently that private schools had started recovery of the fees several months in advance of the summer vacations, which is causing worry to parents.
Dr Mansoob Siddiqui informed the minister that private schools might collect June/July fees before the summer vacations but they must consider the problems of the parents, adding that private schools are entitled to collect tuition fees until March from students appearing in matriculation exams this year. The minister assured parents and students that the department would keep their interests on top priority.
