Chief Secretary Punjab Captain Zahid Saeed (retd) has directed all the administrative secretaries to improve public service delivery which has come under severe criticism by the civil society. He was presiding over a meeting to review performance of all provincial departments here on Friday. He said better performance would help improve governance.
The provincial government is following a comprehensive development plan as record funds have been allocated for health, education, agriculture and housing sector in the annual development programme which are yielding positive results. Projects like Metro Bus and Orange Line Train have been started to provide state-of-the-art transport facilities to people whereas farmers are being provided interest-free loans and smart phones as part of programme to improve agriculture sector.
He directed the heads of all provincial departments to resolve problems of people on priority basis and improve public service delivery. The administrative secretaries presented performance report of their respective departments. The meeting was attended by Chairman Planning and Development Board, Senior Member Board of Revenue, Additional Chief Secretary, administrative secretaries of different departments and officers concerned.
