Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Saturday asked the government to make public the inquiry report on Khatm-e-Nabuwwat (Finality of Prophethood) issue and present it before the Parliament for a thorough debate in order to avoid such controversies in future. Talking to the media persons, PTI MNA Murad Saeed said, "The Finality of Prophethood is part of our faith and there will be no compromise on it."
He said that the inquiry report should be made public and a debate on it should be held in the National Assembly. He regretted that the lawmakers who voted on the bill should be ashamed of themselves as no Muslim can even think of making such changes in the Khatm-e-Nabuwat Bill, as it is something which no Muslim can tolerate.
He said that the government sponsored committee comprising lawmakers belonging to ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) had formed the committee with a pledge to expose those behind the controversy, but despite passage of so many months, the nation is still in dark about its findings.
"We want to know as to who was behind these amendments and at whose behest the amendment was done and then it was withdrawn when protest demonstrations started all over the country," he added. He said that the party will not let the issue die down unless the report is made public, and those behind the lobbying for changes in Khatm-e-Nabuwat Bill on the dictation of some foreign forces, should be identified and given exemplary punishment.
Meanwhile, a statement issued from the PTI Central Secretariat deplored display of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's picture on government advertisements about different development schemes despite his disqualification by the Supreme Court for life. "Displaying the picture of a person [Nawaz Sharif] who has been disqualified by the top court of the country is not acceptable. He is no more qualified to contest elections, but even then he is being promoted as if nothing has happened to him," it added.
It said that a man who was convicted by the court for money laundering and graft charges, should not be promoted at the expense of taxpayers' money, adding the PTI strongly condemns misuse of taxpayers' money as Nawaz Sharif is no more Sadiq and Amin after his disqualification from the apex court.
