It is indeed a matter of immense satisfaction to witness major transformation and rapid development of Gwadar. The rehabilitation of entire phase-I facilities of Gwadar Port Terminal, and completion of work on first phase of Gwadar Free Zone are major milestones towards achieving inclusive and sustainabledevelopment in Baluchistan in line of Pakistan Vision 2025.
Gwadar is experiencing the most rapid development in its history and the development of Gwadar is positively transforming the lives of people of Baluchistan. Gwadar is the gateway of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and the development of Gwadar port is going to positively transform the trade and commerce in the whole region. Gwadar port has a potential to improve socio-economic lives of people of this region by becoming the hub of trade and business activities.
Gwadar port will connect region's land and maritime route which will benefit the entire region and beyond. The ensuing investment and economic activity is not only going to make Gwadar one of the most modern and smart city of Pakistan but it will have a positive impact on neighboring districts as well.
The Gwadar port and free zone projects are demonstration of the time tested friendship between Pakistan and China. This friendship has withstood the test of time and has now transformed into a stronger economic partnership. At this important juncture I would like to congratulate all stake holders including COPHCL for their tremendous contribution and hard work which has played a key role in helping us achieve this milestone.
I will urge them to continue to contribute towards a stronger and more prosperous Pakistan. I wish the first Gwadar expo tremendous success and I hope this event will take place every year and will support job creation and economic activity in Baluchistan.
