President Pakistan Businessmen and Intellectuals Forum (PBIF), Mian Zahid Hussain has said that the government should take immediate measures to remove barriers for women, seeking skills and opportunities; Entrepreneurship Development Institute should be established for women entrepreneurs awarding Diplomas and Degrees, where women entrepreneurs can polish their business and trade capabilities.
He said women industrialists/traders are encouraged to come forward establish bilateral trade terms with different international clients and countries which will not only increase countries' exports, but will also an addition to the foreign exchequer. Hi tech embroidery machines, jockey machines, digital printing machines for both training and hourly rental purposes for women entrepreneurs should be provided which is necessary for value addition of their products.
It will result in earning better foreign exchange as well as increased demand of Pakistani products in international market. Capacity Building programs should also be initiated through Government and Private Institutions. He said that there are various opportunities for women entrepreneurs especially in big cities like Karachi, Lahore, Bahawalpur, Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Quetta and Peshawar, etc., where women can make significant profits through new investments.
Women entrepreneurs can make investment in different commercial and industrial sectors including Beauty products, Decoration, Interior Designing, Fashion Designing, Snacks & Bakery items, Handicrafts, Carpets, Photography, Event Management and consultancy, etc,. The veteran business leader while talking to the business-women delegation said women entrepreneurs should have active participation in the economic development of Pakistan, for which they have significant opportunities in big cities.
Women Chambers of Commerce and Industry located in difference cities of the country are actively taking measures for women empowerment while the government is also extending support to different economic and industrial activities of women entrepreneurs. Financing facilities can be availed through the State Bank of Pakistan, First Women Bank and Akhuwat, an institution that provides interest free loans in the Country.
