Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah said on Tuesday that after 24 hours the 'politics of resignation' will have no meaning. He was reference to Awami Muslim League leader Sheikh Rasheed's announcement to give his resignation from the National Assembly. Talking to media persons here, the provincial law minister said that those giving deadlines now have a deadline to meet.
He was referring to an Election Commission of Pakistan rule which bars holding by-elections within 120 days before the assemblies complete their tenure. He said that "All undemocratic measures to stop Nawaz Sharif have failed. Such measures are not in the interest of anyone." He said, "the conspiracy to stop Nawaz Sharif, is in fact a conspiracy against the development of the country."
He also said that Nawaz Sharif was punished to put the economy of the country on the right path. He was punished to end terrorism and loadshedding in the country. He said that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz's voter agrees with the narrative of party leader Nawaz Sharif.
Sanaullah predicted that former president Asif Ali Zardari will try to "purchase" seats from Balochistan, and if the prices of the members of Balochistan Assembly did not shoot up he will buy more members. He said that in the past horse trading was done in Khyber PakhtunKhwa and Balochistan assemblies in Senate elections and this will happen again in Senate elections going to be held this March.
Rana Sanaullah expressed dissatisfaction at the performance of police in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) as he pointed out the murder of student named Asma in Kohat and minor rape case in Mardan.
