Pakhtunkhwa Boys Throwball Championship got under way here at Government College Peshawar with the collaboration of the Directorate of Sports KP on Sunday. Director, Finance Directorate of Sports Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Tariq Khan and Director Youth Aziz Ullah Khan graced the occasion as guests.
Principal Govt Collage Peshawar Professor Dr Taj-ud-Din, Vice Principal Tahir Shah, Chief Procter Professor Badi-uz-Zaman, Professor Fayyaz Ahmad, Professor Sarfarz Khan. Director Sports Government College Hassan Khan, Director Sports GC Mathra Safder Khan and Director Sports GC Achini Payan also present on that occasion. In his welcome speech, Secretary General KP Throwball Association Arshad Khan said that they have given chances to most of the colleges teams in order to introduce the game at college level in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The aim and objective of the Championships is to promote the game in school and college levels in all districts across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. In the opening match Sharjah club beat Urmer Club by 15-10 and 15-8, Tarujabba Stars beat Chamkani by 15-7 and 15-9, GC Mathra beat Dolfen by 15-9 and 15-12, GCP beat Tarnab by 15-8 and 15-13, Afridi Stars beat GC Achani by 15-12 and 14-16 and 15-10, in the 6th and last match of the day Tarujabba Stars and Sharja club which won by Tarujabba by 15-12 and 15-13.
