The 207 computer servers of the Federal Board of Revenue, handling the FBR data, have reached end of life and end of service. It is learnt that the issue of IT computer servers was discussed during a past meeting of Tax Reform Implementation Committee (TRIC) held at the FBR Headquarters.
The FBR member IT briefed the committee that currently the FBR has 207 servers, most of which have reached end of life and end of service. However, the FBR is in the process of acquiring 70 new latest state-of-the-art servers. The current storage capacity is 240 terabyte as against the requirement of 1,000 terabyte over the next five years.
