Unplanned expansion of major cities like Faisalabad and Lahore have created multiple civic, social and administrative problems and hence instead of expanding the existing cities a new planned and systematic city should be developed in between Lahore and Faisalabad, said Shabbir Hussain Chawla President Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FCCI).
Addressing FCCI Standing Committee on Real Estate here on Sunday, he said that cities are actually concrete Jungles which need enough breathy space to ensure healthy environment for its dwellers. He said that instead of expanding exist cities, the government should encourage private sector to develop new and planned cities to provide reasonable residencies to the growing population.
He also explained in detail the scheduled "Made in Faisalabad Expo" and urged committee members to actively participate in this exhibition that will be held at Expo Center Lahore on March 24-25. He said that this exhibition will actually market the Faisalabad and its product in addition to improving the overall image of Pakistan.
"Initially, such exhibitions will be arranged within the country and later in other major potential international markets of the world", he added He further said that these Expos would provide an opportunity to the Pakistani exporters to introduce their products in different potential markets.
Shabbir Hussain Chawla also appreciated the efforts of Real Estate committee to upgrade existing necropolises in addition to providing maximum facilities in these graveyards. He also donated a cheque of Rs 70, 000 to Haji Muhammad Abid for improving the main graveyard of Ghulam Muhammad Abad.
