Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan recovered huge cache of arms and ammunition stashed in militants' hideouts during numerous Intelligence-Based Operations (IBOs) in various areas of the restive province. This was stated by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Wednesday.
The IBOs were conducted in Chaman, Kohlu, Sibbi and Uch areas of the province under countrywide operation Radd-ul-Fasaad to disarm and eliminate the hidden terrorist sleeper cells, ISPR said in the statement. A large cache of arms and ammunition including RPG grenades, sub-machine guns and suicide belts were recovered during the raids.
The province has been rocked by a series of attacks, the latest being on Wednesday in which two police personnel were martyred. Last year terrorist activities claimed over 180 lives and raised concerns about a growing militant presence, including fighters affiliated with Islamic State, which had claimed several bombings in Balochistan.
