Former President of Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) Mian Muhammad Idrees has underlined the need for preparation of 25-year-long-development roadmap in order to make Pakistan developed and prosperous in comity of nations. The 25-year-long-development roadmap for the country is the need of the hour if stakeholders failed to do so, they would have no choice except bagging and taking dictations from foreign forces, he feared.
Mian Muhammad Idrees, the Chief Executive of Sitara Chemical Industries, said this in a brief chat with media men, here on Tuesday at a reception hosted by the District Governor Lion Clubs South 305 at a local hotel.
He expressed his reservations over the current economic conditions of the country and said that the present political instability is not only affecting the country's economy but also confusing the foreign investors whether they make their investments in the projects or not.
The economic activities, which were moving up in the chart with increase of foreign reserves, export and tax net, now seem to be on the verge of declining, he observed and emphasised that all stakeholders including institutions and political leaderships should come on one page to meet this gigantic challenge.
The stakeholders should develop consensus for development of country's economy as they did for countering terrorism in the past, he said, adding that the 25-year-long-development roadmap if developed should be continued without any impediment and till achievements of required tasks. He also emphasised the need for foiling the conspiracies of all those international forces who do not want stability in Pakistan.
Commenting on CPEC, he said that the world has now realised the importance of the strategic location of Pakistan therefore eyes have been set to achieve maximum advantages and benefits this ideal location. He said that CPEC have though many positive aspects for achieving maximum benefits for the progress and prosperity of the country, but the negative features should also be realised for larger interests of the safety, security and industrial development of Pakistan.
He said that all stakeholders of the country should be taken into confidence on CPEC while the business community should also be taken into confidence on Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with China. Earlier, addressing the reception, Mian Muhammad Idrees, who has been elected as International Director of the Lions Club, called upon the philanthropists to serve the humanity by pooling their due share in the charity.
The ceremony was also addressed by former International director Lions Club International Malik Khuda Bux, Muhammad Azhar Choudhry, District Governor South 305 Muhammad Aslam Khan and Senior Vice President Hyderabad Chamber Commerce and Industry Turab Ali Khoja.
