Inspector General Frontier Corps (IGFC), Major General Abid Latif has said that the number of check posts in South Waziristan Agency have been reduced from 35 to only 4 and assured all needed facilities at the existing checking points.
He said this during his visit to South Waziristan on Saturday. He said that reduction in number of check posts is the result of peace that has been restored after the matchless sacrifices of security forces and Mehsud tribesmen.
He said that concerted efforts are underway to restore communication network in the area adding work on demining is in progress with the help sixteen teams. The IGFC said that all the infrastructure facilities would be rehabilitated besides construction of hotels and restaurants in the area.
