University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) vice chancellor Dr Muhammad Iqbal Zafar emphasized on taking measurers for illuminating the minds of youth with modern knowledge of science and technology. He was speaking at International Conference titled 'New frontier in experimental and theoretical physics' held by UAF Department of Physics on Monday.
Dean Faculty of Sciences Dr Muhammad Asghar Bajwa, Physics Department Chairman Dr Abdul Ghaffar, Dr Muhammad Faryad from Lahore University of Management Sciences, Dr Norani Muti Mohamed from Malaysia, Dr Muhammad Yasin, Dr Shabbir Mehar and other notables also spoke on the occasion.
The vice chancellor stressed upon the need to adopt modern teaching techniques for a better teaching and learning. He urged scientists to work on the problem of a common man and the society. He said in the modern era, research oriented solutions to the problems mankind facing, industry and other stakeholders will pave a way to compete with the world.
He viewed that a century ago one could not even imagine the comforts of life we are enjoying today due to science and technology. He said alternative methods of electricity were essential to increase the power production in which scientists should play their role.
Dr Muhammad Asghar Bajwa said effective communication skills and constant efforts for getting knowledge were prerequisite to excel in any field. He urged the students of sciences to horn their communication and creativity skills as well so that they can exhibit themselves in a better way. Dr Abdul Ghaffar said amid the challenge of the modern era, quality education were essential. He added that the university was making all-out effort to ensure quality education and problem-solving research in the campus.
