The accusations and cross accusations between two factions of Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQM-P)- Bahadurabad & PIB - continued unabated on Wednesday when Dr Farooq Sattar, chief of PIB faction of party accused the rival Bahadurabad group of indulging in the practice of pressurizing the people to desert PIB group.
Addressing a press conference at PIB, Dr Farooq Sattar accused Bahadurabad group of adopting malicious practices when he referred to Senator Nighat Mirza matter, who first deserted PIB group to switch over to Bahadurabad factions a week ago and then came back to the fold of Farooq Sattar's group two days back.
"Bahadurabad group is pressuring our leader and members of assemblies to change their loyalties," Sattar alleged and said that some people are indulged in this exercise. He described the situation as "unacceptable to the party" and said this is tantamount to crossing the limits.
Dr Farooq quoted the example of Senator Nighat Mirza, who was present during the press conference and stated that she was subjected to pressures to shift her loyalties to Bahadurabad. He accused Barrister Farogh Nasim and Barrister Saif Ali of exerting pressure on Senator Nighat Mirza to shift her loyalties.
Speaking about the rift in MQM, which split in two factions, MQM PIB Chief noted that the organizational crisis in the party is due to internal difference within it. We want to resolve the issues with Bahadurabad group for the unity in the party. He also talked about his appeals to Chief Justice of Pakistan and Chief of Army Staff about the injustices meted out to his party. So far, I didn't receive any reply from both sides, whose attention was drawn to the conspiracies being hatched against us, he added.
Senator Nighat Mirza speaking on the occasion revealed that she was subjected to pressure after some certain elements threatened to drag her to the court. She said that Dr Maqbool Siddiqui didn't take any action against this act of his party colleagues, which is deplorable.
