A group of 37 students of BSc (Hons), Institute of Agriculture & Resource Economics Batch No 2014 from University of Agriculture, Faisalabad (UAF) with Assistant Professors Dr Muhammad Amjad Iqbal and Dr Azhar Abbas visited Zarai Taraqiati Bank Ltd (ZTBL) Farm on 18.04.2018.
Acting Executive Vice President, Agriculture Technology Division of ZTBL welcomed the group and briefed about ZTBL vision & mission.
Students visited the Agri Tech Expo Hall where a wide range of Agriculture Machinery from land preparation to harvesting especially Raised Bed Machinery. Practically demonstration of Fruit Grader, Maize Sheller, Drop and Sprinkler Irrigation was carried out. They were informed about the activities at farm including Floriculture, Ostrich Farming and Quail Farming and Bee keeping (Apiculture) activities carried out at ZTBL Farm by the Specialist/Entomologist of ZTBL. Students showed their interest in the farm activities and observed the wheat crop sown with latest technology aiming to reduce weeds and usage of water Raised Bed Technology which is at maturity stage. Subject Specialist/Horticulturist informed the Mushroom cultivation techniques and students also visited mushroom growth chamber and fruiting room. Citrus, Olive and Fig Orchards also visited by the students and acquired helpful/beneficial information.
Students of University of Agriculture took great interest and appreciated the hard work of ZTBL for encouraging latest & Innovative technologies and faculty members. They have appreciated and offered their gratitude for arranging such an informative/knowledgeable session at ZTBL Farm.
ZTBL distributed latest production technology packages/literature on different agriculture crops, fruits, vegetables, dairy & livestock to the students at the end and gave the vote of thanks to visit the ZTBL Farm for showing their interest in ZTBL efforts for agriculture sector.-PR
