Two persons were burnt alive and three injured seriously, when fireworks manufacturing unit situated in Makkuana caught fire after a severe blast and roof of factory collapsed. Furthermore, a fire broke out also in the fields and destroyed wheat crop. Three fire units managed to put out the fire after four hours, but its cause could not be determined, said 1122 Rescue team.
According to police, two fully burnt dead bodies recovered after removals of roof from fireworks manufacturing unit and three workers Bhadur, Tufail and Bashir Ahmad shiffted to burn centre of Allied Hospital in serious condition.
Deputy Commissioner Salman Ghani also expressed grave concern over the blast and issued direction to cancelling all licences of fireworks manufacturing units with immediate effect.
