Opposition leader in the Punjab Assembly Mian Mahmood-ur-Rashid on Tuesday protested against the rejection of declaration of National Security Council by Nawaz Sharif and demanded that Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi should resign immediately. The session started 1 hour 23 minutes late than its scheduled time.
While speaking on a point of order, Mian Mahmood said that the Nation Security Council is the biggest forum of Pakistan, which has rejected the interview of Nawaz Sharif. He alleged that Nawaz Sharif wants to derail the system as he is repeatedly attacking national institutions.
During the session, PA Speaker Rana Iqbal adjourned the session for 20 minutes. When the session resumed its proceedings, Parliamentary Secretary Health Hassaan Riaz while answering the question of PTI MPA Dr Nosheen Hamid said that the government has provided basic facilities to doctors and staff of Nawaz Sharif Hospital, Yakki Gate.
Nosheen Hamid while responding to answer of Hassaan Riaz said there were no specialized doctors in the hospitals and machines were also out of order due to which the people were facing difficulties.
The Speaker directed the parliamentary secretary to visit the hospital along with Nosheen Hamid and ensure availability of basic facilities in the hospital. During the question-hour, Dr Murad Raas pointed out the quorum. The treasury benches failed to complete the quorum upon which the Speaker adjourned the session till 10am on Wednesday.
