The federal government on Friday made Amjad Saleemi as new inspector general of Motorway Police with immediate effect. In the last high-powered promotion board meeting, Amjad Saleemi was promoted in grade-22. Outgoing IG Motorway Police Kaleem Imam has been directed to report to the Establishment Division. Amjad Saleemi was working under the government of Punjab before this appointment.
Syed Ghazanfar Abbas Jilani, a grade-22 officer of Pakistan Audit and Accounts Service (PA&AS), who was posted as Additional Secretary (In-charge), Economic Affairs Division, has been transferred and posted as secretary Economic Affairs Division.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi approved the leave application of Secretary Water and Power Yousaf Naseem Khokhar. Establishment Division issued notification of his 14 days leave application. Three other federal secretaries who are also currently on leave included Secretary CADD Azhar Chaudhry, Secretary Human Rights Rabia Javeri and secretary information. In May 2018, Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi approved the promotion of eight officers of different services groups to grade-22 and notifications of promotion and transfer are being issued before May 31 when the term of the incumbent government will come to an end.
