28 years later, Google takes us back to ‘Home Alone’ with its latest ad
Twenty-eight years ago we were blessed with the iconic Home Alone holiday movie, and today Google has made us nostalgic with its latest ad of Google Assistant, featuring same Macaulay Culkin.
The new ad is the remake of few scenes of the original movie, but with today’s modern technology and Google Assistant-powered setup in his house.

In the new ad titled “Home Alone Again with the Google Assistant”, Culkin, portraying as Kevin just as he was seen in the movie, in seen replying on Google’s virtual assistant for his everyday tasks including checking the calendar, answering doorbell, adding items to his shopping list and more.’
At the end of the ad, the modern-day Kevin is seen ordering Google to operate a custom ‘Operation Kevin’ that automates things such as locking the door, moving around cardboard cutouts, and turning on the lights.
Meanwhile, as holiday season approaches, Google is also adding some Home Alone-themed integrations to its Google Assistant for a limited time, which will trigger classic quotes from the film from the most loved scenes.
For instance, as Google explains, to join in on the nostalgia, simply saying ‘Hey Google, how much do I owe you’ and the Google Assistant will reply ‘Keep the change, you filthy animal’.
“They did a very good job on the set decoration, the props, and all the shots were spot on. I am thinking and hoping that people will really dig it,” Culkin said about Google’s efforts.
