Live-action remake: Jafar’s first look impresses fans more than Genie, Aladdin
Weeks after giving a glimpse through a teaser of the live-action remake of the classic movie 'Aladdin', the film makers have finally revealed the first look of the characters.
The pictures, which were published in Entertainment Weekly magazine, are stills from the movie and show the lead actors in their characters. The pictures feature the main stars including Mena Massoud as Aladdin, Naomi Scott as Jasmine, Will Smith, who plays the Genie, and Dutch actor Marwan Kenzari as Jafar.

In an interview with EW, Smith spoke about taking on the role of the Genie, which was famously played by late Robin Williams in the classic 1992 animated movie with the same name. “Whenever you're doing things that are iconic, it's always terrifying," he said.
“The question is always: Where was there meat left on the bone? Robin didn't leave a lot of meat on the bone with the character. [But] I started to feel confident that I could deliver something that was an homage to Robin Williams but was musically different,” he added.
Soon after the first look of the characters was out, fans were overwhelmed by the hot new discovery of Jafar. More than Aladdin, Twitteriates are joking that they’re on ‘Team Jafar’ and all for the ‘Hot Jafar’ in the reboot.
