As many as 44 drinking water projects have been completed to provide clean water to people in district Kohat. In this connection, a meeting was held in Additional Assistant Commissioner officer on Monday which was attended by all stakeholders. The meeting also discussed issue of dysfunctional tube wells and it was decided to make it functional on priority basis keeping in view requirement of people in summer.
All stakeholders were directed to keep in touch with each other and chalkout effective strategy to meet drinking water requirement. It was decided in the meeting that strict action would be taken against those who damaged water pipelines and for effective monitoring it was also decided that monitoring team should be setup at Village Council level.
Meanwhile, the district administration took an action against holders and profiteers and imposed fines on those shopkeepers who were found in overcharging customers in the holy month of Ramazan.
