Caretaker Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa former Justice Dost Muhammad Khan has directed for accelerated work on the remaining portion of Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Peshawar adding that the speed on the mega project should be more organized and disciplined to mitigate the problems of the people using the main traffic artery of Peshawar.
He assured for an early visit of the project. He was presiding over a meeting on Bus Rapid Transit Peshawar at Chief Minister Secretariat Peshawar. He was briefed about the latest position and details of the project. The meeting was also briefed about the work on the three reaches of BRT. Despite some irritants, work was in full progress on the project. The Reach one would be completed by the end of July and the Reach two by the mid of August. However, Reach Three stands completed.
Dost Muhammad Khan advised the participants of the meeting to create special facility on the project for special people. He also directed to fill ditches on the corridor of BRT to avert the danger of dengue larva. He specially directed for the smooth traffic flow during Eidul Fitr and reducing the environmental hazards. Later, addressing another meeting on Housing Authority at CM Secretariat Peshawar, the caretaker Chief Minister directed to plan multi storey-buildings and assured the promulgation of an Ordinance for the purpose adding that the rapid growth of population and environmental changes necessitated the multi storey constructions construction. Caretaker Chief Minister was briefed about the housing schemes and commercial projects. Caretaker Chief Minister directed to raise greenery and parks in the housing schemes. He also directed for the car parking and the fire extinctions equipments in the multi storey buildings. The government officials should be given plots and houses on easy installments in these housing societies.
Earlier, addressing a meeting on the water and sanitation services Peshawar Mr. Justice Dost Muhammad Khan directed for addressing to the grievances of the people. These services to the people should be monitored at all stages.
He also directed to start registration of illegal water connection and create awareness among the people about the use of scarcity of water resources. He briefed about the vision, mission, service area, scope and authority of the company.
Dost Muhammad Khan directed for the water conservation involving the whole community and using modern techniques. The future wars would be fought on water and therefore we should be sensitive to the efficient use of water resources and against its misuse.
