The ticket aspirants and disgruntled workers of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Saturday opposed the award of tickets of three provincial constituencies of Mardan district and announced to contest election as independent candidates against the PTI candidate.
Haris Khan Toru, Lakhkar Khan, Kaleemullah Khan, Abdul Sattar and Iqtidar Khan aspirants candidate of PK-51, PK- 52, Nawabzada Nasrullah Khan, PTI district council member Abdul Sattar, PK-48 former candidate Khatab Bacha, Brigadier Ismail Khan (retd), Adbus Salam Afridi of PK-53, Asharf Khan, Sadique Ahmed, Nasir Khan advocate former candidate of NA-21 and other said while addressing to a huge public meeting at the residence of Haris Khan Toru son of former police chief of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Fayaz Khan Toru at Toru village in district Mardan.
A large number of aspirants and PTI (Nazriyati group) disgruntled workers and activists of provincial constituency PK-51, 52, and PK-53 attended the public meeting. The participants of the meeting raised slogans in favor of PTI chief Imran Khan. The participants of the meeting expressed concern over the allotment of three constituency's tickets. They alleged that the party leadership allots tickets to the parachute candidates and ignored the genuine and ideological workers.
Addressing to the meeting speakers strongly criticized the former provincial minister and central additional general secretary of PTI Mohammad Atif Khan who belong to Mardan. They added that Atif Khan occupied the party in Mardan district. They accused that Atif Khan ignored the party ideological and genuine workers and allot tickets in PK-51 to Ameer Farzand Khan Brother of former provincial minister Ghani Dad Khan who was not allotted ticket by ANP and as a result he recently quit the ANP and joined the PTI for the sake of ticket.
The speakers said that Atif Khan also allotted ticket in PK-52 to another candidate who recently quit the PPP because the PPP did not allot him ticket and joined the PTI for the sake of ticket. They added that these candidates are not loyal to their parties then how they can be loyal to PTI. They accused that these candidates have joined PTI for the sake of tickets and their own interests.
The participants further said that they could not accept these decisions and will support the PTI independent candidates on these constituencies. They added that there were several parties in the country but Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) was established on the slogan of justice and merit and we join PTI but unfortunately PTI leaders ignored their slogans and violated merit and justice in the distribution of party tickets in the 2018 elections.
