River Chenab and river Kabul attained the stage of low flood after rains in their catchments and Nullahs of Rivers Ravi and Chenab may attain low to Medium level flooding on 30th June; Flood Warning Center said here on Friday.
According to FWC, the water inflow rose to 80,000 cusecs at Marala near Sialkot on Friday afternoon providing sufficient irrigation water to Mangla zone comprising central and eastern parts of Punjab.
Met office said that Rain-thundershower with gusty winds occurred at scattered places in Lahore, Gujranwala, Sahiwal, Thatta, Mirpurkhas, Karachi, Hyderabad divisions, and while at isolated places in Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Bahawalpur divisions, FATA and Gilgit-Baltistan.
It recorded rainfall till 6.00 pm on Friday as under:
Sindh: Dhali 80mm, Chhor 75mm, Chachoro 40mm, Badin, Mithi 33mm, Diplo 24mm, Mirpurkhas 11mm, Kalohi 04mm, Tandojam 02mm, Karachi (Jinnah Terminal, Landhi 02mm), Punjab: Kasur 94mm, Sialkot (A/P 63mm, Cantt 52mm), Gujranwala 57mm, Lahore (A/P 52mm, City 49mm, PU 23mm), Sahiwal 31mm, Okara 23mm, Mandi Bahauddin 12mm, Faisalabad 11mm, Gujrat 10mm, Bahawalnager, Jhelum 09mm, Mangla 05mm, GB: Skardu 22mm, Astore 06mm, Kashmir: Kotli 18mm, Rawalakot 03mm, KP: Parachinar 12mm.
It said seasonal Low lies over Northwest Balochistan and its adjoining areas. Westerly wave is present over northern parts of Afghanistan. Monsoon currents are continuously penetrating eastern parts of the country.
More Rain-thundershower is expected at scattered places in Lahore, Gujranwala, Sahiwal, Bahawalpur, Mirpurkhas, Hyderabad, Karachi, Thatta divisions and Kashmir, while at isolated places in Zhob, Kalat, Malakand, Hazara, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Sargodha, Multan, DG Khan divisions, Islamabad, FATA and Gilgit-Baltistan. Isolated heavy fall is also expected in Lahore, Gujranwala, Mirpurkhas, and Thatta divisions.
Scattered thunderstorm/rain with isolated heavy falls is expected over Upper catchments of Rivers Jhelum, Chenab, Ravi & Sutlej along with Faisalabad, Gujranwala Lahore, Sahiwal and Bahawalpur Divisions and Southeast Sindh. Isolated thunderstorm/rain is expected over Malakand, Hazara & Rawalpindi Divisions along with Gilgit Baltistan & South Sindh.
