Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry announced on Thursday the government's plan to place on Exit Control List (ECL) former President Asif Ali Zardari, along with other suspects in money laundering case.

Addressing a press conference following the conclusion of the federal cabinet meeting, the information minister said the government has decided to place on ECL the names of all 172 accused named in the Joint Investigation Team's (JIT) report in the fake bank accounts case.

Chaudhry further said with this latest decision, he hopes that the former president and Pakistan Peoples Party co-chairman will now take the findings of the JIT seriously in the money laundering through fake accounts case.

The minister remarked that this was not purana (old) Pakistan where two player make a deal. He said now every penny will be accounted for.

Speaking about the recent situation of Karachi, Chaudhry said that the government will not allow anyone to sabotage the metropolis's peace. He said that there are South African gangs who are active in Karachi. The minister said the Foreign Office had been asked to take the matter regarding these gangs  to the South African government.
