With a view to foil rigging plan, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has activated the anti-rigging system (ARS) for upcoming general election. PML-N spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb told media that the ECP's anti-rigging cell was also receiving complaints on daily basis.
She added that efforts were underway to terrify the PML-N workers but the PML-N workers and supporters are determined to give thumping majority to the PML-N on July 25. Despite injustices, the PML-N is in the field and would win elections on July 25, she said.
Marriyum said not a single penny corruption could be proved against party chief Nawaz Sharif. The PML-N leader said the process of injustices had started with the sit-ins of a party, adding that the footage of removing PML-N's banner was also leaked. She went on to say that the decision on the petitions filed by Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and son-in-law Captain Safdar (retd) against their conviction in Avenfield reference should have been announced before July 25.
She also accused PTI Chairman Imran Khan of using abusive language in his speeches during the rallies.
To a query, she said a National Conference of social media activists and chief polling agents would be held on July 19 in Lahore which would include training programme for chief polling agents from all constituencies where PML-N candidates are contesting.
She said apart from the PML-N, some other political parties including the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) have complained about attempts at rigging, interference, intimidation, manipulation, political engineering, and harassment plus nepotism and favouritism through abuse of office and undue official influence.
She said that all these actions are a blatant violation of the Code of Conduct of the Election Commission of Pakistan.
She said three times prime minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif is facing a trial in jail which is unprecedented for political leaders.
