The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has decided that party president Shahbaz Sharif will be the leader of opposition in the National Assembly. Sources in the PML-N told on Friday that the PML-N held consultations in which majority of the party leaders suggested that Shahbaz Sharif should retain NA-132 Lahore seat and quit the provincial assembly seats.
The sources further claimed that the participants of the meeting also proposed that Hamza Shahbaz may be nominated for the slot of Punjab chief minister. In this regard, it was proposed that Hamza may leave NA-124 seat retaining the provincial assembly seat. The meeting also decided that all out efforts should be made to get support of the independent candidates to form the government in Punjab. It was also suggested that Khawaja Saad Rafique who emerged victorious in provincial assembly seat may be nominated as the leader of opposition in Punjab Assembly if PML-N couldn't form government in the province. The PML-N has already formed a committee which is contacting independent candidates of the Punjab Assembly in a bid to form the PML-N government in Punjab.
