Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) will open its SSC to PhD-level admissions for Semester Autumn 2018 in various academic programmes from Wednesday (1st August). Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Shahid Siddiqui has approved an admission plan that includes setting up prospectus sale points at its main campus, regional and coordinating offices throughout the country.
Admission forms and prospectuses could be obtained from the sale points at the university's main campus, 44 - Regional Campuses and around 100 - Coordinating Offices in various parts of the country, including Azad Kashmir and Northern areas.
The VC advised all regional directors to set up Facilitation Center at their respective offices for help and guidance of the students. Recently, the university has geared up its academic role meeting the country's educational needs, by developing a strong regional infrastructure network and launching new educational programmes.
It laid special focus on promoting quality education and developing the AIOU as a research-based educational institution. The VC while addressing the regional heads conference held here noted that there has been an upward trend in the university's enrolment in the recent years due to qualitative improvement that was brought about in the working of the university at various levels.
The university's image was reconstructed by carrying out all-round development work, particularly in fields of research, professional development and revision of curriculum. Besides this, new development academic programmes were launched and students' support system was strengthened.
