Director General, Regional Division (Central) TDAP, Riaz Ahmad held a meeting with Ahmad Mao, COO of M/s. Longer Development (Pvt) Ltd, an investment consulting company for Qingdao Municipal, China regarding establishment of a display centre (a duty free/free zone area) for promotion of Pakistani products in Qingdao, China, which will be sponsored wholly by the Qingdao Provincial Government.
Qingdao, a major coastal city in the Shandong province, is a leading industrial hub of China and ranks as the third largest in terms of GDP, behind the northern cities of Beijing and Tianjin. Riaz Ahmad, DG TDAP elaborated that under the initiative of "Emerging Pakistan" by Ministry of Commerce, such a venture would be a very positive step to promote Pakistani products in Qingdao as well as other adjoining areas in China. He emphasized that China and Pakistan are long-standing strategic partners and such initiatives will further strengthen economic ties between the two countries.
The display centre facility will provide free-of-cost services to Pakistani exporters to showcase their products and this warehousing facility will also immensely help to reduce the supply time of their products to importers in China. The delegates appreciated Director General Riaz Ahmad, for his sincere and untiring support the promotion of Pakistan's products. The meeting ended with a vote of thanks to the chair.-PR
