Chicago Board of Trade soyabean futures fell on Monday as worries about a worsening trade war between the United States and China dragged prices lower. CBOT September soyabeans settled down 8-3/4 cents at $8.82-3/4 a bushel. New-crop November futures ended 8-3/4 cents lower at $8.93-1/2. Soyameal futures and soyaoil also fell.
Chinese state media on Monday lambasted US President Donald Trump's trade policies in an unusually personal attack. China may cut soyabean imports by more than 10 million tonnes this year as feed users tap alternatives like sunflower and palm seeds, state media reported.
