Prior to Independence Day celebrations, Sindh University VC Prof Fateh Muhammad Burfat called a meeting of all key academic and administrative heads to discuss, streamline and finalize the activity calendar amd flow-chart of Independence Day events which are to include flag- hoisting ceremony, preparation of the guest list, invitation mechanism, logistics, skits, tableau, concerts, passing out parades and several other such revelries.
Registering his reflections in the meeting, Dr. Burfat said freedom was one of the rarest blessings which their elders ensured for them by virtue of rendering innumerable sacrifices.
Dr Burfat further asserted that the Independence Day mandates entire public to think beyond the differences of caste, creed, color, ethnicity, language and region and merge into one national identity they all knew as Pakistan. The Vice Chancellor articulated special pride in being 'Pakistani'; saying Pakistan has always been a reason for his pleasure and personal fulfilment.
