District Nazim, Peshawar, Mohammad Asim Khan on Wednesday formally inaugurated the shifting of Rural Health Centre (RHC) in Regi, a suburban locality on solar energy. Besides, the chairman, District Health Committee, Akhtar Gul, District Councillor, Jumaraz Khan, local government representatives and elites of the area attended the ceremony at large.
In his briefing, the chairman, District Health Committee, Shamsul Bari told the distirct nazim that the district government has installed modern solarization system at the RHC. The project has cost an amount of Rs 7.5 million. The system besides providing electricity to the hospital will also help operate other heavy machinery including x-ray room, laboratory, OPD and other sections of the hospital.
Addressing the ceremony, the District Nazim, Mohammad Asim Khan said that the experience of the shifting of RHCs in the surrounding localities of the provincial metropolis had proved successful. The revolutionary step of the shifting of all health centres in the suburban localities was taken in wake of massive load shedding. He said that so far the RHCs of Ghari Tajik, Mathani and Badhber have been transferred on solar energy successfully.
The district nazim expressed his resolve that the PTI-led district government is determined for equipping the rural health centres with modern facilities to provide health facilities to the people at their door steps. The step will also help minimize burden on the big hospitals of the city.
