Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety and Halal Food Authority on Wednesday carried out various operations across the province where atleast thirteen food outlets were sealed over food safety violation. According to details team Mardan on Charsadda road, carried out an operation where two bakers were sealed over using non-food grade colors. Similarly, in Sabzimandi a tuck shop and four general stores were sealed over violating the food safety standards.
On the other hand, in DI Khan, food authority team has sealed three bakers a general store and a hotel over bad hygiene situation. The bakers were charged over using textile colors which is injurious to health. Taking action on students' complaints, food authority in Bannu University of Science and Technology has sealed the main canteen over bad hygiene conditions and selling expired items.
The spokesperson of the authority Attaullah Khan added that in Mingora bazar of Swat, food authority close-down two bakeries after violating the food safety standards. The bakers were earlier warned to improve the hygiene situation, but they failed to do so.
Meanwhile, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety and Halal Authority on special directives of Caretaker Chief Minister Justice retired Dost Muhammad Khan, inspected Haji Camp for food safety measures. ]In the supervision of deputy director operations Shahana Khalil and Assistant director Aneela Mahboob inspected Haji Camp situated at Phase VII Hayatabad. The team sealed two canteens and a general store over supply of substandard and expired food items in the camp.
