Against all the odd circumstances on ground, the Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) has claimed a stable power supply throughout the region. The Company has further pointed out that there was no unannounced load shedding. However, there was an approved load shedding schedule that is being implemented in connection with the development work in the region, it added.
Meanwhile, the LSECO spokesman said excessive load shedding is being observed on categories of four and five feeders where power theft is quite rampant. It further said that the consumers should immediately bring into the notice of their relevant subdivisions through an SMS service in case they find a situation otherwise what the LESCO is claiming every now and then.
Interestingly, the LESCO consumers have started feeling the heat of excessive load shedding in various parts of the day, especially during the peak hours when the load of air conditioners is added to the supply system. Also, some major faults in the transmission system have resulted into power breakdowns for long hours and the Company has saved its skin by shifting the blame on transmission system.
The agony of consumers can be gauged from the fact that a writ petition has been filed before the Lahore High Court, praying for a direction to the LESCO to refrain from observing unannounced load shedding.
