Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Saturday said it would invite PML-N president Shahbaz Sharif, PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and former Opposition Leader Khursheed Shah to the oath-taking ceremony of new prime minister. "Heads of all parliamentary parties will be invited to the oath-taking ceremony," PTI Information Secretary Fawad Chaudhry said, talking to journalists outside Banigala residence of his party chief.
Fawad said that the Parliament is the most important institution in a democratic country and our prime minister would be answerable to the House. He said PTI would work with the opposition parties to strengthen the Parliament and give serious consideration to their demands. He said Imran-led administration would cut spending of lavish Prime Minister House, Governor Houses and CM Houses and chief secretary houses, as this is the time to take austerity measures. He said that a meeting of Punjab Assembly members has been called on August 14 to finalize name of the chief minister. To a question, he said, PTI has held consultation on the name of Punjab chief minister and the matter still remains under discussion.
"We have already short-listed three names for the position of deputy speaker of National Assembly. A final announcement in this connection will be made by Sunday," he said, adding that Khan would bag more than 180 votes in the election of prime minister.
Responding to a question, he said that economy is the biggest challenge for the incoming government of PTI. "The first target is to put economy back on track and create employment opportunities," he said. He also admitted there are security issues regarding residence of Khan. "We will share more details about Khan's residence after getting security report," he said.
