South Korea's largest animal feed maker Nonghyup Feed Inc. (NOFI) bought about 63,000 tonnes of feed wheat from optional origins in a tender for up to 126,000 tonnes which closed on Thursday, European traders said. Price was said to be $256.55 a tonne c&f. There is an additional $1.25 a tonne surcharge for additional port unloading. The seller was said to be trading house CJ International.
The wheat was bought in one consignment for arrival in South Korea around December 15. Shipment was sought between November 12 and December 1 if sourced from the US Pacific North West Coast, Australia or Canada, between October 23 and November 11 if from the US Gulf or east Europe, or between October 18 and November 6 if from South America.
Offers for a second wheat consignment for arrival around December 31 were rejected. NOFI on Thursday also rejected all offers and made no purchase in a separate international tender for 69,000 tonnes of corn as prices were regarded as too high.
