The Karachi Port handled 181,493 tonnes of cargo comprising 126,635 tonnes of import cargo and 54,858 tonnes of export cargo including 8,409 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Wednesday. The total import cargo of 126,635 tonnes comprised of 50,256 tonnes of containerised cargo; 3,154 tonnes of bulk cargo; 1,650 tonnes of soyabean seeds; 14,376 tonnes of DAP and 57,199 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 54,858 tonnes comprised of 44,559 tonnes of containerised cargo and 10,299 tonnes of wheat. As many as 8,409 containers comprising of 3,546 containers import and 4,863 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Wednesday. The breakup of imported containers shows 1,296 of 20's and 1,061 of 40's loaded while 24 of 20's and 52 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 1,015 of 20's and 908 of 40's loaded containers while 576 of 20's and 728 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were five ships namely Wan Hai-515, Tolten, Hyundai Splendor, GSW Fighter and KSL Fuyang carrying containers, chemical and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. There were four vessels viz. Clemens Schulte, X-Press Suez, Milos and Seacon-7 carrying containers, rapeseed and general cargo respectively currently at the berths.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 139,181 tonnes comprising 133,101 tonnes of import cargo and 6,080 tonnes of export cargo including 3,420 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Wednesday. The total import cargo of 133,101 tonnes includes 1,620 tonnes of LPG; 13,868 tonnes of palm oil; 44,874 tonnes of coal; 13,839 tonnes of soyabean and 58,900 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 6,080 tonnes includes 6,080 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 3,420 containers comprising of 3,100 containers import and 320 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Wednesday. There were two ships namely MV Navios Chrisline-B and MT Tomson Gas carrying coal and LPG respectively sailed out to sea on Wednesday morning, while two more ships namely CV MOL Generosity and MV African Buzzard carrying containers and coal respectively are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of nine vessels viz. CV Maersk Denver, CV Maria Elena, MV African Buzzard, MV Navios Chrisline-B, MV RB Leah, MV Anarila, MT Tomson Gas, MT Mega-1 and MT Chem Bullgog were currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, coal, LPG and palm oil respectively during the last 24 hours. As many as fifteen ships namely CV MOL Generosity, MV HS Tosca, MV Orion-III, MV Cecilia-B, MV Sakizaya Miracle, MV Doro, MV Maud, MV North Colombia, MV AS Olivia, MT Maria-III, MT Athina, MT Pike, MT Meltemi, MT Al-Salam-II and MT Maritime Riyal carrying containers, condensate, soyabean, rapeseeds, coal, chemical, LPG, diesel oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were five vessels viz. CV MOL Generosity, MV HS Tosca, MV Doro, MV Maud and MV AS Olivia carrying containers, condensate, coal and chemical respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal, Iron Ore and Coal Berth and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively on Wednesday. There are two ships namely CV GSL Tian Jin and CV MSC Ludovica carrying containers due to arrive on Thursday.
