The incidents of carjacking registered an increase in the federal capital as over seven cases of motor vehicle theft were reported to different police stations of the city during the last week. According to data gathered by Business Recorder here on Saturday, over three cases of kidnapping and two cases of robbery were also reported to various police stations during the aforementioned period.
The most 'favorite' areas for the criminal gangs were within the limits of Khanna, Secretariat and Tarnol police stations. Khanna police station registered two cases of motor vehicle theft during the aforementioned period. The motor vehicle thieves stole a bike bearing registration number RIK-1130 of a citizen Muhammad Haroon. They also lifted a bike (RIM-6561) of one Yashir Hameed.
During the last week, Secretariat police station registered two cases of kidnapping. A victim Atif Mehmood informed Secretariat police station that accused Yousaf Khan kidnapped his sister. In another incident, Muhammad Imtiaz filed a complaint with Secretariat police station that accused Tauqeer along with others kidnapped his daughter.
In the same period, Tarnol police station registered one case each of auto theft and kidnapping. The motor vehicle thieves stole a car bearing registration No LZK-2328 of one Fareed Hussain. Another Noor Qadeem filed a complaint with Tarnol police station that unknown persons kidnapped his brother.
