Sale of land between Railways, Punjab government: CS orders implementation of SC judgement

Chief Secretary (CS) Punjab Akbar Durrani has directed Board of Revenue to finalise modalities for implementing the decision of Supreme Court (SC) regarding share of sale and lease of land between Pakistan Railways and Punjab government.
Durrani presided over a meeting to review implementation of the Supreme Court's judgment, here on Friday which was attended by senior member board of revenue (SMBR), secretary finance, member colonies, additional advocate general Punjab and officers concerned.
It may be added that the apex court, in its ruling in December 2011, had fixed 50 percent share each for Pakistan Railways and Punjab government regarding the sale and lease of land.
He said that without compromising the interest of province, implementation of the Supreme Court's decision would be ensured and a monitoring committee at provincial level, whereas implementation committees in districts would be set up. Initially, a pilot project would be started in one or two districts and later the same would be replicated in other districts, he added.
