On the directions of Federal Tax Ombudsman (FTO), Model Custom Collectorate (MCC) Quetta initiated a major crackdown on illegal foreign origin mini-petrol pumps in Quetta and its suburbs including Nawa Killi and Hanauruk areas. Sources told Business Recorder here on Tuesday that MCC Quetta under the supervision of Collector Customs Ashraf Ali initiated another action against such illegal foreign origin mini-petrol pumps in the said areas.
According to the sources, they sealed a number of mini-petrol pumps. Additional Collector Zubair Shah, Deputy Collector Maqbool Baloch, Superintendents Maqsood Durrani and Aslam Khan, Inspectors Naseer Shaheen, Shahzad Akhtar, Jameel Kakar, Ghulam Hussain Khoso, Shabir Khan, Essa Khan, and Yousuf notezai, and others participated in the crackdown.
The said crackdown continues on non-customs paid vehicles and illegal mini-petrol pumps by Customs Quetta authorities and they recovered millions of rupees luxurious vehicles and 25,000 liters Iranian diesel.
On the directives of the Federal Tax Ombudsman (FTO) Quetta, crackdown continues on illegal private showrooms. More than dozens of luxurious non-customs paid vehicles were taken into custody. Police Along with other law enforcement agencies including FC also assisted the customs authorities.
Collector Quetta Ashraf Ali has formed special anti-smuggling teams under the supervision of Additional Collector Zubair Shah and Deputy Collector Maqbool Baloch to follow the direction of FTO. Airport Road Quetta where a few shows rooms are involved in this monkey business were the target of the crackdown.
Maqbool Baloch, Deputy Collector Customs, along with SSP (Operations) Naseebullah Khan leaded this crackdown personally. This non-customs paid vehicles mafia consisted on unscrupulous elements who are also taking the advantage of meager staff of customs and vast area of province annexed with Iran and Afghanistan. Collector Ashraf Ali has appreciated the performance of ADC Zubair Shah, DC Maqbool Baloch and their team members.
