Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) Provincial Chairman, Sikandar Khan Sherpao severely criticizing the PTI provincial government for its decision to abolish Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ehtesaab Commission (KPEC) and asked PTI to explain about spending of over Rs one billion on the KPEC, if the anti-graft institute didn't perform well.
Speaking at a news conference at Peshawar Press Club on Friday, Sherpao said that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ehtesaab Commission was established by PTI government in its last tenure, calling it as best anti-graft institute against National Accountability Bureau, which could not only eradicate corruption, but introduce a better accountability system in the province.
But, he said the incumbent provincial cabinet has taken decision in its last meeting to windup the KPEC by showing serious reservations over its poor performance. He said that QWP had opposed the establishment of KPEC in presence of NAB and recommended several amendments in its law.
Flanked by the party Secretary Information Tariq Khan, Secretary Political Training Asad Afridi and Dr Alam and others, he questioned the status of more than 29 references under hearing with KPEC.
On the occasion, QWP provincial chief criticized the incumbent federal government for its plan to increase sui gas tariff by 45 percent and hike in power tariff Rs 2 per unit.
He said that Pakhtun nation is passing through the critical juncture of history and the sense of growing deprivation among them was on high increase among them and QWP will leave no stone unturned to remove their grievance.
